New starters sept 2020

A huge welcome to all of our new children and families who will be joining Thameside in September 2020.  Below you will find our 'Parent Handbook' which all new families will be receiving in the post in the near future.   In addition, a copy the Welcome Letter (which you will be receiving in the post) is published below.

As I write this, we are currently in the second period of the lockdown ordered by the government. I fully understand that, as new parents, you will have lots of questions. If it were under 'normal' circumstances, we would be meeting face to face and talking through any questions you may have. Although this is not possible at the moment, below I have provided an email address for you to use should you have any questions. I will answer them as soon as I can. As a final point, I want to reassure you that I will keep you as up to date as possible with any key dates or information you may need.

Thank you for choosing Thameside Primary School and we look forward to meeting you all as soon as it is safe to do so. Please stay safe and well in the meantime.

Tuesday 23rd June 2020 - New Parents' meeting

Mrs Greenaway and the Foundation team will welcome you to Thameside Primary School and provide key information about our school.  If we are unable to meet in person, this will take the form of a Powerpoint which will be published on the school website. If, after viewing this, you have any queries, please contact the Foundation lead Mrs R Thomas via the school office on

Transition visits and starting arrangements

We will be sending out our 'New Parent Handbook' in the post, which you should receive by the middle of May. If you do not receive the book by this time, please contact the school office. The book itself contains lots of information about our school and the Foundation Stage in particular.  When we have a clearer idea of when our school will re-open, we will contact you again with some more information about transition dates, starting arrangements and class allocations.  Please keep an eye on this page as we will be updating it regularly with some useful tips to prepare your child for school.

Also attached is a 'Transition Book' which has some pictures of our Foundation Stage setting and school for you to look at with your child.
